I have finally found a most irritating song

It's called The Twelve Days of Christmas. If sung long enough, it sounds like 999,999,999 bottles of Beer on the Wall.
It's snowing out here on vacation. and it's VERY cold. Four days till Christmas and my parents still haven't finished their holiday shopping. You'd think they'd have learned by now.
Not much to talk about, so I'll put up a video.

Cool, no? I think it would be very neat to have a purse made out of duct tape.

Off to camp we go, hooray, off to camp we go!

Well, I'm going. I haven't packed yet, but I don't need to leave for hours. Which is good.
I'm just making a short post to say that it doesn't look like it's going to rain, and to put up a picture of a pretty christmas tree.

Merry Christmas! After I come back from camp we're flying to see my mom's family, but I'll still be able to post.
Big Toe Says: Well, remember what you said, because in a day or two, I'll have a witty and blistering retort! You'll be devastated THEN!
Oops, wrong season. Try again.
Big Toe Says:What fun is it being cool if you can't wear a sombrero?
NO!!!!!
Big Toe Says: Merry Christmas.
me: *Sigh* Okay, that'll do.

Cookie Season

I really want to make some Christmas cookies soon. They always look so good, and this year I will make hundreds. Thousands! Enough to make an entire country fat! Okay, I'll stop. But I have visions of plenty.
I found a pretty cookie recipe on the web, which I will post here. I haven't actually tried this, but I will. And the results will look a lot less fantastic.

Raspberry Linzer Windowpane Cookies
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour (about 9 ounces)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup egg substitute
1/4 cup seedless raspberry jam
2 teaspoons powdered sugar
Preparation
Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, stirring well with a whisk.
Place granulated sugar and butter in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at high speed until light and fluffy. Add egg substitute; beat until well blended. Beating at low speed, gradually add flour mixture; beat just until a soft dough forms. Divide dough into 2 equal portions, and wrap each dough portion in plastic wrap. Chill at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375°.
Roll each dough portion into a 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface; cut with a 2-inch square cookie cutter with fluted edges to form 32 cookies. Repeat procedure with remaining dough portion. Place cookies 1 inch apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Cut out centers of 32 cookies with a 1-inch square cookie cutter with fluted edges. Bake cookies at 375° for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on pans 5 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks.
Spread center of each whole cookie with about 1/2 teaspoon jam. Sprinkle cut-out cookies with powdered sugar. (A) Place 1 cut-out cookie on top of each whole cookie.
Yield
32 cookies (serving size: 1 cookie)

This is a very good way to make a long post. Please try them. Send me some.
Big Toe Says:C is for cookie, it's good enough for me; oh cookie cookie cookie starts with C.

Stressful Doesn't Quite Cover It

Oh, what a very busy weekend. My head almost exploded.
If you had several concerts to be in, you'd be stressed too. So here I am, playing a new game I found. It's called Plant Tycoon. You breed plants and sell them.
I don't really know what to talk about, except that Christmas is coming soon and I didn't really realize it until yesterday when I was singing Christmas carols at the concert. About halfway through Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (which I am heartily sick of singing) I suddenly thought "Oh boy. Christmas is in 2 weeks." and then, soon after: "AUGHHHHHHH!"
Oh well. Make sure you've bought your Christmas presents, everyone.
Big Toe Says: I've always thought that Christmas was about family. But then, my family doesn't seem to agree with me.

It's Snowing -- Still.

It snowed all of yesterday and it's wet snowing today. Here in Wetworld, home of the wet winters, we don't get a lot of snow, and while this one isn't exactly a let's-ski-down-the-hill-because-there's-a-meter-of-snow kind of deal, I still think it's pretty cool. Unfortunately, there's always that time where the snow turns to rain the the snow on the ground gets all mushy and brown. I think that might happen today.
The thing about winter is it's always too cold to do anything, but too warm to do winter sports. All you can do is just run around in the rain. Lovely.
My dad's birthday, Christmas, Our trip to visit my mom's family, and Our trip to China are all approaching much too fast. I think I might decide to hibernate.
We're spending Christmas with my mom's family, so we can't bring our big tree. Instead, we are taking my little tiny hot pink one, which, while it won't allow for many presents underneath, is still fun to decorate.
I think I'll have to go out and brave the snow soon.
Big Toe Says:Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery.
BTW, That's a quote from Calvin and Hobbes. I thought it was so cool that I really should credit the author. Bill Waterson, I salute you.
